50 CENT, JAY-Z, & KANYE Adorn Forbes Top 100 Celebrity List
Yesterday Forbes release their annual Celebrity 100 list. It breakdown each celebrity based on power ranking which is all well and good but who needs power when we can have checks?!
Although #26 on Forbes Power Ranking 50 Cent landed in the #2 pay slot behind Oprah Winfrey bankrolling $150 Million last year due in part to the $100 million come up he enjoyed after taxes last summer when his GlacĂ©au VitaminWater was bought by Coca-Cola as part of a $4.1 billion deal. 5o’s portfolio includes G-Unit clothing, G-Unit records, plus films, videogames and a slew of platinum albums, including last year’s controversial “Curtis.”
Landing at #7 on the power list but #10 where it matters mo$t, Jay-Z had a huge year with most of his activity happening in a one week timeframe. In April Jay signed a $150 million, 10-year, recording, touring and merchandising deal with concert diva, Live Nation and then days later married his longtime boo, (and #11 on the money list,) BeyoncĂ© on the roof of his New York City penthouse. He also managed to revitalize his music career with his platinum unofficial movie sountrack “American Gangster.”
Well whenever we’re talking money and celebrit you know Michael Jordan has to be part of the discusssion. Having retired close to 10 years ago, Mike is still doing it with the Jordan Brand which is now doing $800 million a year providing him with residual royalty that doesn’t look to be a fading income source anytime soon. He’s also in his first year as the head of basketball operations for the Charlotte Bobcats.
Coming in at the #27 Power slot/ #50 pay rank is the flamboyant Mr. West. Despite Kanye trumping 50 cent in a friendly album release rivaly with his now double platinum “Graduation” Kanye landed at #50 in pay rank with an estimated $30 Million in earnings due in large part to production credits for Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Diddy. He also took home top honors at this year’s Grammys awards.
Others of note include: Tiger, Diddy, Shaq, Kobe, Lebron, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams, and others.
